Nice robes, guys! Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs are seen here shooting a what looks to be a rather intimate scene for Private Practice. Wonder what it's all about?

This year's Emmys will see a group of presenters that includes past winners, current nominees and people who deserve more recognition than they got.

Oh, and Private Practice star Kate Walsh will be there, too.

Among the snubbed was Kyle Chandler of NBC's Friday Night Lights, but he will be on hand to present. So, too, will Hayden Panettiere of Heroes.

Past winners Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer will promote their new Fox sitcom, Back to You, while Jimmy Smits will plug his new CBS drama, Cane.

Kate Walsh will help boost Private Practice, the much-anticipated new ABC drama and spinoff of the successful Grey's Anatomy.

Speaking of Grey's Anatomy, Walsh's former co-star, Katherine Heigl (seen here with Kate and fellow Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight) who's up for best supporting actress, will also present.

Other presenters include Steve Carell, Jon Stewart, Kiefer Sutherland and the entire cast of HBO's hit series Entourage.

Fox will present the Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 16. Ryan Seacrest of American Idol will handle hosting duties.

A little patience.

That's what it would take for her character on Grey's Anatomy, Dr. Addison Montgomery, to really connect with audiences.

At least that's how Kate Walsh saw it.

Her role as the estranged spouse of Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd, was only intended to be short-term.

But Addison took on a life of her own the longer she was on screen.

Initially, neo-natal surgeon Addison was hated by fans who saw her as standing between Meredith and Derek and their true happiness.

But as Addison's story lines evolved, she became one of Grey's Anatomy's most beloved characters. Not shabby.

"They started off writing her like the wicked witch from the east all in black, coming in to clean up. And then they just gradually made her more and more human and took off the scales one by one," Kate Walsh said.

"They do this with everybody in the show. All the characters have a work persona and a personal persona. I think that's just very real, and that it is also very natural that some people would reveal theirs more than others, like the interns that are working 400 hours a week."

The public reaction to Addison has changed from anger over Derek to joy at seeing her in the arms of Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane).

The character is so popular, producers gave her a spin-off series.

Walsh left at the end of Season 3 to begin Private Practice, which viewers have already had a taste of in a previous episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Set in Los Angeles, the show also stars Taye Diggs and Tim Daly.

"Basically, where Grey's Anatomy is sort of people who worked together that become friends, these are all friends that decided to form a private practice," Walsh says.

The actress adds that viewers can expect to see more of the characters' "messy personal lives." We can't wait!

Kate Walsh left the cast of Grey's Anatomy last year to star in her own spin-off, Private Practice, but Seattle Grace isn't the only thing she's leaving behind.

According to Us Weekly, Walsh has put her current digs up for rent and just bought a home with her fiancé Alex Young.

How does the new place for the Private Practice leading lady stack up? A $4.75 million, 6,000-square foot Spanish-style home in Los Feliz, California.

The 39-year-old actress closed on the gated five-bedroom, six-bath house on July 17. The couple's new home boasts a media room, wine room, a pool house that includes a spa, and its own bar.

The rear grounds of Kate Walsh's new place are complemented by an outdoor fireplace, free-standing hot tub, outdoor cooking center and dining area.

If Kate Walsh ever wants to visit her bachelorette pad, she doesn't have to stray too far from home. Her old stomping grounds are less than a mile away.

Currently up for lease for $8,800 a month, the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath Moorish-influenced home features a step-down living room, new kitchen, and a dining room lined with French doors which lead out to the pool area.

There is a private deck and multiple verandas and gardens. It's is within walking distance of Los Feliz Village and was featured in O magazine.

With under two months to go until her new series debuts, Private Practice star Kate Walsh has plenty to celebrate. But last weekend was cause for something celebratory and altogether different - a bachelorette party in her honor!

Among the friends on hand to help Kate Walsh celebrate at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas' Venetian hotel were former co-star Sara Ramirez and Keisha Chambers, the wife of another Greys Anatomy mainstay, Justin Chambers.

While no date has been announced that we're aware of, it looks like Kate's wedding could be in the works for the near future! Kate Walsh, 39, got engaged to Fox studio executive Alex Young earlier this year.

Kate Walsh and friends clearly had a blast in Sin City.

The premiere of Private Practice is set for Wednesday, September 26, at 9 p.m. We're looking forward to seeing Kate, Taye Diggs and the rest of the cast of this promising series make their debut!

With a wedding to plan and a new prime time series waiting in the wings, Kate Walsh sure is one busy lady. Us Weekly spoke with Walsh about leaving the scandalous halls of Seattle Grace for her own Private Practice this fall...

Us: Was it difficult to leave Grey's Anatomy?
Kate Walsh: It was. But at the same time, it's such an amazing opportunity. I definitely miss my pals, but I see them socially. And I'm so excited that Grey's got nominated for an Emmy again this year... it's just amazing. But it felt like a natural time for Addison to move on. What else could she do at Seattle Grace, really?

Us: How will Private Practice differ from Grey's Anatomy?
Kate Walsh: There is the same recipe of comedy and drama in the show. But there is more humor. The thing about Addison is that she's off balance. A fish out of water. There's humor in seeing someone taken out of their environment and dropped in a place even the most professional woman freak out a little.

Us: Are you still in touch with Grey's Anatomy cast members?
Kate Walsh: I just saw them. Sara Ramirez, Katie [Katherine Heigl] and Justin Chambers. We had a drink the other night to celebrate the Emmy nominations. It was great to see them.

As we know, the exciting world of celebrity fashion often unites stars from across the entertainment landscape. In this case, our very own Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice star and the first ever American Idol.

Kate Walsh donned this Monique Lhuillier dress at an L.A. charity gala, while Kelly Clarkson rocked the very same chiffon frock at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Hollywood. Who wore it better? You decide.

They're engaged and very cute together. Kate Walsh met with her real life McDreamy, Alex Young, to attend an engagement party in Pasadena, Calif., Saturday. Presumably, the party was for them!

As far as we know, the Private Practice star and her studio executive fiance haven't set a date for their nuptials yet. But on the other hand, every day is a celebration when you're newly in love!

Unlike her romantically impaired Private Practice character, Kate Walsh knows love when she sees it.

The woman who plays Addison Montgomery and boyfriend Alex Young got engaged in May after dating for just three months.

"We've been together since February," Kate Walsh, 39, told People.

"I know. I'm literally living the dream. But you know when you know. I was not expecting it, so it's kind of amazing."

While Kate Walsh says she loves "everything" about her fiancé, an executive at 20th Century Fox, she admits she's crazy about his looks.

"He's pretty handsome," she said, adding with a giggle: "He's ridiculously handsome!"

And it doesn't hurt that he's helping with the wedding plans... in his own way:

"He's really great. He's there, but he's not in the way! He wants to contribute."

But Kate Walsh is not afraid to take charge.

"You start getting into this and you don't want to be a cliché, but then suddenly you're like, 'I'm doing all this stuff!'"

Considering she's also preparing for Private Practice, which starts shooting in mid-July, her schedule must be packed.

"It's insane, yeah," she said. But she has a mantra that keeps her centered when it comes to wedding planning:

"Delegate, delegate, delegate!"

To help her manage things, Kate and Alex Young are taking a vacation.

"We're going to a balmy island," she said. "This is my getaway, and as soon as I come back we just hit the ground running."
