I love this show.  I loved that last scene with Cooper in her bedroom - he is so great.  Oh and what about Naomi-Sam hook-up?!!!  That was interesting that Pete and his wife were trying to have a baby when she died.  But how does that fit with his outburst at her grave?!!

lms:  The outbust at his wife's grave didn't mean that they never had any good times together... and if Pete really wanted kids, as was evident in his face when the girl was freaking out in the birthing tub, then it makes sense that he'd get emotional over the ordeal... once I saw that look on his face, I had doubts about whether he and Addison would get together that night...

as for Cooper, I didn't think he'd be able to do it, especially with Violet constantly bringing up the whole "no strings attached thing"

and as for Naiomi and Sam, as soon as he walked in the room, I knew what was going to happen... it was just inevitable with what had happened with the other couples... somebody had to get some that night!  haha.

But I did think it was great that Dell "caught the baby like a football" and that Cooper and Pete went to the opposite houses as their "dates".

The opening song was "Good Thing" by Fine Young Cannibals.  The song at the end is "Say It's Possible" by Terra Naomi.  Apparently Terra's song got a lot of hits on YouTube?  You can watch the video there.

I enjoyed the November 14, 2007 episode of Private Practice (PP), “In Which Sam …”, because of its warmth, sensitivity, and complex mix of ‘hug me’ emotions among and across the menagerie of permissible characters. As a public health educator, I enjoy medical dramas for its educational value. I listen intently for the not so overt PSA messages.

I was a bit put off by characters, ‘Dell’ and ‘Naomi’s’ noncompliance with the World Health Organizations (WHO) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care (advanced draft, October 2005)1. There was an obvious gaping hole in Dell’s protective glove as the camera panned to him holding the newborn baby boy. This is one reason why it is important to wash hands before putting on protective latex gloves. Latex rips because of the stress of wear or improper fit. Even if fictional, some less enthusiastic hand washers may interpret the donning of latex gloves sans handwashing (i.e., handwashing with soap and water, or use of waterless alcohol-based hand rub) as appropriate. This is a big no, no for medical personnel.

Hospital infections affect 2 million individuals a year in the United states2 and result in 80,000 deaths a year in the U.S.3 Physicians, nursing assistants, and men are less likely to wash hands in the clinical setting. In fact, health care professionals, generally have a less than 50%4 handwashing compliance rate. So important is handwashing or hand disinfecting to patient safety, that on May 18, 2002, the WHO passed resolution WHA55.18: Quality of Care: Patient Safety. A critical goal of the patient safety resolution is to reduce the occurrence for cross-transmission of nosocomial or hospital related infections, which are on the increase, such as hospital acquired (or healthcare associated) Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (Ha-MRSA).

So, please post handwashing compliance hand hygiene posters, near handsinks and faucets for example, in order to appear more real-like, to help the WHO and CDC reduce morbidity and mortality risk from preventable illness and disease. I will keep watching PP as long as writers continue to depict African American characters, Naomi and Sam, engaged in riotous coitus. America needed to see this.   References: http://www.cdc.gov/MMWR/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5116a1.htm http://www.shea-online.org/Assets/files/IHI_Hand_Hygiene.pdf http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol7no2/pittet.htm

oh my gosh, loved this epi!!

dell - he gets better every week, i love him! he's like a cute little puppy dog! he has the greatest facial expressions/reactions, it's great. :) ha, so're his words: gynergy, happy pap, dell vault...

cooper and violet- so i used to like coop, y'know he was part of the show, he's fine, whatever. now though, these past few episodes, wow!! his character is developing more and more and i love it. i'm so glad him and vi didn't hook up, that he was a man in the end. hopefully she realizes his feelings for her are why he couldn't do that to her in the end though. oh, and never woulda guessed he had that cute bod hiding under his clothes! :)

naomi and sam - yay! i'm so glad she jumped him at the end!!!

pete and addison - i'm so glad he stood her up. don't get me wrong, i love addison, team addison all the way! but she doesn't want pete for real, and he's def not ready for an actual meaningful relationship yet. i think the police officer's widow's whole birthing ordeal just kinda gave him a little kick, and reminded him of stuff. i hope addison figures out what she wants and quits goin after pete! hello, totally hot police officer boy gave an invite but she had to turn him down for pete. boo.

i'm loving this show more and more as the season continues, it's great! and like someone said earlier - i too am actually enjoying this more than greys at the moment, i look forward to it more. good stuff!!
