So far I've been enjoying the show, but I wasn't too thrilled with this episode. The pacing was off and the hour dragged. They need to put a little more zip into this show- and start giving us a real storyline with Addison, then work on the other characters. I would much rather see the Addison/Pete flirtation than say, the Sam/Naomi divorce saga. The Cooper/Violet thing has great potential, but they've got to tone down Violet's whiny My-man-left-me-oh-why-cant-i-just-get-over-it storyline. It makes her annoying rather than endearingly lovesick.

What in the world was Dr. Addison wearing???  She looked like a streetwalker instead of a respected doctor.  I've seend this trend in other shows lately, too.  A female investigator on CSI Miami recently came to work looking as if she were headed to a New Year's Eve party.

Your right about Violet...I sort of just wanted her to stop. Like maybe cooper could have grabbed her an told her flat out "You need to stop". I did love Coopers extremely subtle way in telling her his like for her.

I still feel really bad for Addison, not being able to have childrens. and such irony that she's works with that kind of hting, baby's in all. But she doesn have a chance. but will they actually pick that up and go with it? Or is it all just talk?

Joy: Well, it's private practice, so as the pilot said, they get to wear jeans and whatever they want instead of scrubs!  Haha.  I really like it.

I love everything about Private Practice so far, actually, except for the whole one-patient-a-day thing which makes it look a lot like House without the black humour because the show has to last an hour.  My problem with it is that I don't have enough medical knowledge to know all the medical lingo in the show...  but Private Practice is better than House that way -- it slows down sometimes.

I liked last nights episode. It's great to see how Addison fights for something she believes in, like what the pregnant woman told her. And Sam trusting Addisons instincts was very good as well. I have to say, Addison and Sam are great together. They really have chemistry. I don't see the chemistry between Addie and Pete at the moment. If it's that obvious why does everybody need to point it out.

Violet and Cooper on the other hand, the chemistry between those two is hard to miss. It's interesting that no one has yet asked them about their closeness. Like what's going on between the two of you.

And what I really enjoy is Dell pointing out his midwife skills to Addison, I really hope we will see those to do some work together. They are fun to watch.

I really liked this episode but I got annoyed with Violet's " I want to know but I don't " thing when she saw Cami was seeing Naomi. I would love to see Cooper and Violet get together but now that Cami has told her that her ex might still have feelings for her, Violet's going to keep on about it. I loved the part when Violet finds out why Cami came to see Naomi and how she says she's glad its not cancer when she finds out its a bladder infection. I also loved the part about the 10 year old with the gay crush cause Cooper was so stunned by it.

I was wondering if anyone knew who played the 10 year old kid with the gay crush who was Cooper's patient? I recognize him from some other show and I think his name is Miles Heizer but If anyone knows for sure I'd like to know cause its been bugging me.

The problem with this show is lack of continuity, purpose and a sense of forced chemistry. The solution is simple- give us more back stories about Addison (she is afterall the lead character that the show is based on- much like Grey's is based on Merridith so bring it on....) Talk about Addison's past (so far no mention of her and Derek, or Sloan - more references to her NY lifestyle, her regrets about "getting too busy and too successful and neglecting to work on her marriage"; discuss her abortion and the the fact that she wants to slow down and smell the roses- she wants someone that can 'play catch and barbecues' (Pete is not that guy- not so far anyway - he's just another Mark);  flash backs to college stories with SAM and Naomi (fun stories) to make us believe that they are good friends; Basically the idea is to use the Grey's formula of building a show around one character and her development - Private Practice was suppose to be a continuation of Addison's journey but whithout addressing where she came from she can't get to where she wants. and more importantly we won't care to follow her and cheer her on.....

    Just a thought.

Does anyone remeber the name of the illness for the psycotic pregnant woman?  Where she was not absorbing nutrients... what was that called on the show.
