A little Private Practice scoop from E! Online's spoiler Q&A today ...

Q: Can you tell me anything about the season premiere of Private Practice? I miss my good friend Addison Montgomery ...

A: Except for a little wibbling at the top of the episode, Addison is the amazing hero we know and love in the season premiere. The show was not my fave last season, but this premiere genuinely feels strong and refreshed, like the show's been staying at Canyon Ranch since we saw it last. Story-wise, Cooper blows off Violet in favor of sex with Charlotte, Dell quits the practice and Addy is crazy angry with Naomi for making an unethical choice about a patient. Also, Amy Acker from Angel is the main patient in the ep, and she does her usual sterling acting job.

Q: You haven't dished on Private Practice lately; I demand some scoop!

A: Audra McDonald told me that she and Taye Diggs have actually been taking Pilates classes prepping for all the, um, twists this season. "There's a lot of sex this season, a lot for everybody, there's a lot of bed hopping on Private Practice right now," she told me at Les Deux on Saturday night. Does that mean we'll be seeing more love with Chris Lowell? "The triangle is alive." Hooray for cougar-dom!

Private Practice didn't win any Emmy Awards Sunday. Maybe that's something the show can aspire to. But Kate Walsh won raves for her fashion!

Kate Walsh recently spoked with Entertainment Tonight about what's in store when the much-anticipated second season of Private Practice returns.

The show's leading lady answered some questions about last season's on-screen romance with super-cute Kevin the Cop and his return in Season 2.

Kate Walsh, Audra McDonald and Amy Brenneman were seen filming Private Practice on 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica on Tuesday.

A DVD set including all 9 original episodes of Private Practice, along with bonus features, is scheduled for release September 16, 2008.

Season Two of Private Practice premieres October 1. We can't wait to see Kate, the girls (and the guys, too) back at long, long last.

Q: OK, seriously, who's leaving Private Practice?
A: In the second season premiere, dear Dell (Chris Lowell) up and quits his job! His departure will cause lots of disruption for the remaining Private Practice cast members, but don't worry, Chris isn't leaving the show.

Private Practice is back (October 1), and the cast shared a little info at the premiere party for the Season One DVD (out September 16).

E! Online has the scoop ...

According to Kate Walsh (Dr. Addison Montgomery), "There's so much happening this season! There's a lot more surgery. There's lots of sex. We realize in the first episode that the practice has a little financial turmoil happening, which I think is actually topical in the state of our economy. I think a lot of people can identify and relate when you mortgage a place and then find yourself thinking, 'Uh oh! How am I gonna pay for it?'"

Or, as Paul Adelstein (Cooper) put it, "The practice itself gets threatened. It might go under. The other thing that Shonda Rhimes is trying to do is really get into some medical ethics issues that doctors and families have to deal with all the time. There are some really good storylines about that stuff."

Sarah Drew is joining Private Practice for a multi-episode story arc, sources tell Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.

This comes just two weeks after the Everwood alumna was cast as JoAnna Garcia's BFF on The CW's 90210 companion, Privileged.

Combine that with her recurring as Salvatore's beard on Mad Men, and, well, it bears repeating: Sarah Drew's career is on fire!

The gatekeepers at Shonda Rhimes Inc. are keeping a tight lid on specifics of Drew's Private Practice stint, but this much we know:

Drew is playing a patient on the series, and she'll be spending most of her time with Dell's (Chris Lowell) rookie midwife.

In other words, someone's (most likely) having a baby.
